趙守泉從沒向爸爸談過性向，但趙爸爸（54歲）相當開明，對2人戀情並不反對，「反正我有3個兒子，你不能傳宗接代沒關係；日子是你們自己在過，不用管別人怎麼想」，還主動籌辦婚禮，只希望兒子能幸福；另《蘋果》訪問趙父，他不諱言揹負家族壓力，還不敢讓年邁父母知道守泉婚事，但他強調只要兒子高興、負責就好，並呼籲社會大眾「放下傳統道德的屠刀，讓角落的愛受到關懷、在陽光下綻放」。

2人決定在台灣辦完婚禮後，先回倫敦登記結婚，趙守泉並已申請到英國蘭卡斯特大學的語言學研究所繼續進修，讓安迪感到十分窩心。
